The Patch Colors:

Green signifies the liberated mind of the martial artist; freedom to expand and incorporate one's training to better your life and those around you.

Red denotes the blood, sweat, tears and hard work the martial artist devotes to the improvement of his or her skills.

Blue (water) signifies the softness of water that has the power to wear down a huge mountain. One should be able to flow like water, bend and reshape the techniques to fit the situation and wear down a larger opponent.
